Family Reunion

One day each year gathering someplace
catching up on what has occurred during
the year since we last met

Joinings and disjoinings of marriage
and partnership; births, graduations,
striking out on one’s own journey

Ailing and passing, capturing
and recapturing memories of today
and yesterday once more.
