All I Want is to Know

Another evening dining alone,
while you are still at work

Another fight, our voices screaming,
doors slamming between us

Another night waiting in the dark,
wondering where you’ve been

Another teardrop stains my pillow,
dreaming of what once was

Another morning without speaking,
now there are no words to say

All I want is to know,
is this the way it’s supposed to be?
