Shades & hues
pale to deep,
tender, tawdry,
like blushing cheeks,
vermilion-clad
firelight glittering,
scarlet embers
against the night,
warming, arousing
velvet petals
fluttering alight
richly rose
precious fluid
drops of life
vibrant crimson
carmine skies of morn,
days forsaking,
titian gloaming
roseate sands, rusty clay,
nature’s palette rouge.
